Remembering the Life & Ministry of Pastor David Carscadden

David was the pastor of First Baptist Church in Adel for many years. As a fellowship of pastors and churches, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they grieve his loss. BCI has been in touch with David’s wife and has offered any help needed.

On behalf of the BCI Staff, fellow pastors, and Iowa Baptists we acknowledge Pastor David’s life and ministry, and offer our love, prayers, and condolences to his wife, children, and all extended family. We also offer our prayers and support for the First Baptist Church family as they walk through this time of grieving.

Pastor David’s Obituary

David Lee Carscadden (67) of Adel, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 25, 2022. He was born June 17, 1954 to Dale Shepherd and Joyce Owens (Ross) in Indianapolis, IN, and later adopted by Ralph Carscadden. In 1973, David met the love of his life, Sherrie. Married in 1974, they had two children, Jeremiah and Joshua.

David was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Ross and his birth father Dale Shepherd. He is survived by his father Ralph (Fay); his wife Sherrie; sons Jeremiah (Alexis) and Joshua (Jennifer), granddaughters Kendall and Adelina; brothers Timothy (Susan) and Jay (Jessica); and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Adel, IA on Tuesday, March 1, from 5-7pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the same funeral home on Wednesday, March 2, at 11am. The family requires masks to be worn during both the visitation and service.
