Istanbul, Moldova, and Romania – The Daniel Project’s Bold Strategy
We’re delighted to share an encouraging Vision Trip report from a recent journey to Istanbul, Moldova, and Romania. This adventure was led by Tim Lubinus, BCI Executive Director, and accompanied by Tim Trudeau, pastor at Grace Community Church in Boone. The primary purpose of this trip was to strengthen existing partnerships and develop new ones in alignment with the BCI mission of “Helping Church Leaders Take Their Next Step to Multiply Disciples, Churches, & Mission.”
Strengthening Partnerships in Istanbul
The journey began in Istanbul, where the team had the privilege of meeting with key partners in church starting. The heart of our discussions centered on our commitment to receiving and supporting personnel from Eastern Europe who are part of local teams through the Daniel Project. The Daniel Project was an initiative that seeks to place qualified “near culture” personnel in difficult to reach places. The focus was on promoting partnerships to collaborate effectively to ensure a seamless transition for these personnel as they embark on their ministry in challenging ministry environments.
Additionally, the team engaged with consultants who shared insights and innovations to our approach to mobilizing, equipping, and sending church planters to difficult to reach places. These discussions are catalytic in shaping our strategies and logistical support for the Daniel Project.
dentifying Church Planters in Moldova & Romania
Continuing the journey, the team spent time in both Moldova and Romania, engaging with leadership within Baptist churches. Their objectives were twofold: recruiting potential Daniel Project church planters for Central Asia and establishing coordinators who would work closely with each Eastern European country. This step is an essential next step to facilitate the strategic development of the Daniel Project.
In Moldova and Romania, the team was deeply moved by the passion and dedication of the local Baptist churches. Through fruitful discussions, they identified individuals with potential to become church planters for the Daniel Project, firmly committed to spreading the Gospel in Central Asia.
Moreover, the team worked on establishing coordinator positions, acting as the vital link between BCI and the churches in Moldova and Romania. These coordinators will play a crucial role in identifying, mobilizing, equipping, and sending church planters into Central Asia. These partnerships are poised to significantly expand the Daniel Project’s reach.
Looking Ahead
As the team reflects on this transformative journey, they are filled with gratitude for the opportunities presented. The partnerships forged and the strategies developed during this trip will undoubtedly shape the future of the Daniel Project and present new opportunities to BCI churches.
