One of the key areas that BCI churches partner together is in “Community Transformation.” As church leaders, we are each called to bring the transformative power of the gospel to our own neighborhoods, towns, and cities. However, there are some needs that are difficult for an individual church to meet. The BCI Iowa Ministry Fund supports those ministries that spread the gospel and meet those needs in our state.
In May of each year, the Foundation Committee reviews applications from various ministries and selects ministries to receive IMF grants. Ministries are evaluated in regards to their evangelistic emphasis, doctrinal alignment, and statewide impact. A typical contribution for each organization is $10,000.
The Iowa Ministry Fund recipients for 2018/2019 are:
- Alliance Defending Freedom, Advocacy for Religious Liberty & Justice
- BCI Disaster Relief, Disaster Relief
- Bridgehaven Pregnancy Support Center, Crisis Pregnancy Ministry
- Daniel Project, Cross Cultural Ministry
- Friendship Center, Ministry to the Poverty Impacted
- Her Health Women’s Center, Crisis Pregnancy Ministry
- Prison Fellowship, Prison Ministry & Aftercare
- Safe Families for Children of Iowa, Emergency & Transitional Housing
- The Gospel Mission, Emergency & Transitional Housing
- Wildwood Hills Ranch, Troubled Youth
- Wings of Refuge, Human Trafficking
In addition to providing funding for these ministry partners, we also encourage BCI churches and church members to serve with these ministries. In the coming weeks, this newsletter will highlight IMF ministries and provide contact information and ways for your church to volunteer.
A special thanks goes out to the 2019 BCI Foundation Committee for their hard work on the IMF.
