Labor Day weekend found several of our congregation on the road to Tahlequah. Oklahoma, A weekend of visiting friends. family. and enjoying the Cherokee National Holiday while worshiping and praising God our Savior. We also watched the parade. attended the museum. ate Native foods and some even participated in the stick ball games,
In September, Pastor Bull had the privilege of officiating at the wedding of Lisa and Doug Shutz, We have known Doug for over twenty five years and were so pleased to preside over this blessed event, With over seventy bikers in attendance at Middle River Park , vows were exchanged and attendees had the opportunity to hear the Biblical message uniting this couple in matrimony.
Road to Freedom had visitors from the Boone Biker Church and were invited up to their service. A few from Road to Freedom did make that journey.
Pastor Bull and Barb had an opportunity to meet with other Christian Bikers and their wives at a weekend campout with friends in Des Moines. It was so cold that many from the Omaha area and Wisconsin chose to stay in motels rather than camp. But, we were still blessed with a great fellowship time and a delicious roasted hog.
The Covered Bridge parade gave us a chance to minister to many festival attendees. We were blessed to have fourteen motorcycles in the parade. But, after the parade as we were heading to a fellowship time and soup supper, one bike had a mechanical malfunction that put rider and the bike on the ground. (broken bones and lots of bumps and bruises)
It never ceases to amaze me how God uses injuries, especially in the motorcycle community, witnessing inside the walls of a hospital have such a lasting effect for non believers as well as believers. Twice in November hospital experiences allowed us to do more witnessing within the hospital.
After visiting with Biking pastors from around Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Wisconsin, we decided that for December, January and February, Road to Freedom will be meeting on the second Sunday at 2:00 PM at 115 John Wayne Drive on the square in Winterset.
We have had a great opportunity to be included with BCI for learning experiences and fun activities. We are making spring plans to meet with two other biker churches in southern Iowa.
