The Baptist Convention of Iowa is investing in the future of the church by offering seminary tuition scholarships to students from BCI churches.
These scholarships support full-time seminary students who are actively serving in a local church ministry. Through the generosity of BCI churches, we’re raising up the next generation of church leaders to reach Iowa and beyond with the gospel.
Scholarship Details
A scholarship of $500 per semester for up to four semesters is available to full-time master’s level seminary students preparing for a full-time ministry position in an Iowa church.
A Legacy of Generosity
Thanks to a generous legacy gift from a faithful member, the Baptist Convention of Iowa is able to offer seminary tuition scholarships to students from BCI churches. This gift is an investment in raising up the next generation of church leaders to reach Iowa and beyond with the gospel.
Recent Scholarship Recipients
Since the Fall of 2021, 71 scholarships have been awarded to seminary students. This semester’s eight scholarship recipients are:

- Caleb Moody – Veritas Church, Cedar Rapids
- Jay Safford – New Bridge Church, Winterset
- Mitchell Malven – Veritas Church, Iowa City
- Isabel Smith – Veritas Church, Iowa City
- Rachel Schlabach – Veritas Church, Iowa City
- Gabe Lockin – Veritas Church, Iowa City
- Hannah Kimberley – Sacred Mission Church, Collins
