Communications Coordinator Jon “Ole” Olsen transitioning out after 8 years of faithful service

After 9 years of faithful service on BCI staff, Jon “Ole” Olsen will be transitioning out of the role of Communications Coordinator as of May. As Communications Coordinator, Jon has collected and curated BCI and SBC related news, articles, and updates for the BCI Weekly E-Newsletter and the blog on the BCI website.

CRESTWOOD CHURCH

Jon indicated that this is a good time to transition out of the role for him personally as well. He looks forward to being able to focus on fewer responsibilities in his other roles as Administrative Pastor at Crestwood Church in Des Moines and as Marketing Specialist at Route 65 Harley-Davidson® in Indianola.

CRESTWOOD BAPTIST ADMINISTRATIVE PASTOR

Jon began attending Crestwood in 2005 and was made a deacon in 2007. In 2010, Senior Pastor Eugene Guthrie invited Jon to join the staff as an administrative assistant. Jon participated in several years of theological education online through Liberty University in Kentucky and was ordained as a lay pastor in 2016, taking on the role of Administrative Pastor, a role he continues.

EIGHT YEARS OF SERVICE AT BCI

Jon started serving on staff at BCI in November of 2012 working on the monthly newspaper. At that time, BCI was producing a multipage, print newspaper and Jon was working nearly full time developing content for the paper. Years later, in an effort to reduce overhead expenses, the newspaper transitioned into an email newsletter. Jon has assumed responsibility for the email newsletter for the last few years, faithfully distributing emails to church leaders every Friday.
