LifeChange Church’s mission statement is: “To connect the love of Jesus to the heart of the community”. We provide opportunities for our church to accomplish this mission in several different ways both individually and together as a church. One of those ways this summer was our “Back 2 School” Bash hosted at Grandview Christian School. We began to invite our community through social media/personal invites, etc. with no idea how many (if any) to expect. We prayed that God would send those who needed not just to receive free stuff, but those that needed to hear the Gospel. The completely free event included: jumbo inflatables, a foam cannon, snow cones, popcorn, pizza, balloon animals, and Iowa State Fair ticket giveaways. We were incredibly blessed as nearly 400 visitors attended! We gave away 125 backpacks filled with school supplies, 30 haircuts, bibles and the Gospel to everyone. We had 40 families ask for LifeChange to visit them personally after the event was over. It was an incredible time to show our community the love of Jesus and then share the promise of salvation found only in Jesus.
