BCI Webinar Replay: How to Start a Christian School in Iowa

More Iowa churches and parents are exploring what it would take to start a Christian school in their community, and now may be the best time to begin.

During our recent webinar, How to Start a Christian School in Iowa, leaders from the Iowa Association of Christian Schools (IACS) and Enlightium Academy shared key reasons this is a unique opportunity:

  • New funding options make education choice more accessible for all families.

  • Many public schools are struggling, creating a clear need for alternatives.

  • Community impact and parental choice are stronger than ever.

  • IACS now offers a streamlined process to help new Protestant schools launch and gain accreditation (35 new schools have started in the last two years!)

The IACS process provides a coach, five guided modules, and clear steps toward provisional accreditation (typically within 6–8 months).

Enlightium Academy offers partnership options for churches through hybrid or virtual models, helping address key challenges like teacher availability and small class sizes. With Iowa’s $8,000 per-student funding, schools can easily provide a full-time Enlightium program for about $2,500 per student.
