TODD STILES – NEW PART-TIME ROLE AT BCI

Todd Stiles joined the BCI staff in a part-time role January 1 to lead the Pastor & Church Connection Team. The focus of this team is to connect with BCI pastors, churches, and staff to support them in a variety of ways, from coaching and mentoring to providing resources, training events, and networking opportunities.

As part of the transition, Stiles submitted his resignation to BCI Executive Board president Tim Trudeau. Stiles served as First Vice President of the Executive Board.

Coaching, Mentoring, & Training for Pastors & Church Staff

In announcing the addition of Todd Stiles to the BCI staff, Tim Lubinus, BCI Executive Director stated, “we are always looking for ways to up our game when it comes to helping pastors and churches take the next step forward. Todd is a seasoned pastor with a lot of experience in pastoral leadership, but is also a highly respected mentor and coach to many Iowa pastors. He will bring a unique perspective and voice to this role.”

The Pastor & Church Connection Team fulfills a key part of the BCI’s mission. Multiplying Churches in Iowa is accomplished in close cooperation with the North American Mission Board’s Send Network and is led by Church Planting Catalyst, Chase Abner. Multiplying Disciples helps churches and pastors cultivate a local church environment where discipleship happens and leaders are trained, equipped and deployed for ministry. Multiplying Mission focuses on helping churches expand their outreach and influence within Iowa and build strong bridges to partners serving internationally.

To See Pastors & Churches Thrive

Looking towards this new role, Stiles commented, “my heart is for the local church, especially First Family Church, as well as the churches and pastors of the BCI. So when Tim asked me to consider exchanging my role on the Executive Board for a role leading this team, my answer was a simple yes. I deeply desire to see pastors and churches thrive, and I’m humbled to be asked to be part of our state convention’s commitment to that end even as I continue to do that within our own congregation.

Stiles serves as the Lead Pastor of First Family Church in Ankeny, a church he and his wife, Julie, planted in 2004. He also serves as Iowa’s representative on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention.
